Amazing Job Interview Story

This is a true amazing job interview story.

With great excitment and concentration, I arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport, way ahead of time (more than 3 hours before the flight).

I was very excited about the fact that the following day, I would be facing interviewers in Switzerland. It was an important appointment and I was well prepared. I had done my homework.

Little did I know that the journey would end up in great frustration.

But let's revert back. I presently myself to the check-in counter and to my great amazement, I was told that my ticket was not paid for and as a consequence, I could not check in.

But the good news was that the flight was not full and if I paid on the spot, everything would be fine. Unfortunately, I didn't have any limits on my card to purchase a ticket on the spot. All seemed lost.

Then, the check-in clerk suggested if I didn't know anybody that I could call to make the credit card payment. Then, I got the light. Off course, I knew somebody.

So I called my brother in law and he willingfully made the card payment.

All is finally well , isn't it? Well, not so fast!

I asked the clerk to check the payment and she was amazed. Wow. "It actually seems that payment has been finally made. It's strange. I'am not sure about this. I will need to get a confirmation from a senior manager. I don't want to take risks here"

And I waited, and waited and got angry and pleaded to no avail. After the boarding completed, I realized I would not take this flight, as a victim to bureaucracy. I was devastated and furious.

What a strange job interview story, right?

So, the following day, I had to call the hiring company to inform them. I had little hope there could be any positive outcome.

But a miracle happened!

They were very comprehensive and were willing to move the appointment to the next day.

Whew. A second chance.!

the next evening, no strange story with the airline. I boarded the plane and landed in Switzerland.

Then the second round of my amazing job interview story occured. My luggages didn't arrive. I had to wait in the queue and file a claim before leaving the airport.

As a consequence, I arrived late at the interview.

Don't feel sorry for me however because this unusual job interview story ended well. I was offered the job and moved to Switzerland.

A key takeaway for you is to not despair if for some reasons, things go bad before the interview. You can still make it!

Now, your turn to share your amazing job interview stories!
