Successful Job Interview

Let's look from the book of Psalms for 5 keys to a successful job interview

Psalms 1-3 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

These successful job interview keys can be split in two parts: the external ones and the internal ones.

Successful job interview key 1: Get your thinking right!.

Don't walk in the counsel of the wicked: don't associate with people that don't have their thinking right about job interviews, about companies. The people you associate with will impact the way you think and every success starts from the thinking. If you don't have the right thoughts about the job interview process, you may view it as a confrontation. You will display a defensive attitude, it will be very difficult for you to get a connection with the interviewer.

Successful job interview key 2: Get your acts together!

"Don't stand in the way of sinners" speaks of what you do before, during and after the job interview. Before, you need to be prepared. During, you need to connect with the interviewer, clarify the job position, demonstrate the adequacy of your competencies with the position. You need to have the proper body language to support what you say. After, you need to restate your interest, send a thank you letter and be clear about the next steps.

Successful job interview key 3:Communicate effectively!

Don't sit in the seat of mockers speaks about what you say during the job interview and even more importantly how you say it. Connecting with the interviewer is key and you won't achieve that goal if you display a mocker attitude.

Successful job interview key 4:Show you motivation!

You have to delight in the law of the Lord, you have to show the interviewer your motivation to handle the challenges of the job position. It shouldn't appear that you simply need a job to pay your bills and make a living. The job should not be a law, something you have to do but rather something you like and want to do. In summary, display the right attitude, a positive one.

Successful job interview key 5:Visualize your success!

You need to visualize yourself successful during the job interview and also successfully handling the challenges of the job. This process has to start before the interview and continue afterwards.
